Dr. John Riddle

John Riddle, DVM

Dr. Riddle graduated from The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He enjoys the challenges of veterinary medicine and the fast-paced evening shift at Athens Small Animal Hospital.

As City of Chattanooga Police Department SWAT/officer turned veterinarian, Dr. Riddle takes a direct approach to veterinary medicine. He is compassionate and dedicated to helping heal ailing pets and to educating pet owners.

The lessons and values Dr. Riddle learned from law enforcement can be seen in his veterinary practice as there is a team approach to his medicine. He doesn't back down from tough cases, but regularly consults with his associates and colleages to find the best answers for his patients.

Dr. Riddle is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and The American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Riddle co-owns Athens Small Animal Hospital with his wife, Kim Wilson Riddle, a Realtor. Dr. Riddle and Kim have two daughters, Wren and Kathryn.

When he isn't hard at work, Dr. Riddle enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as white water kayaking on rivers such as the Ocoee, Tellico, and Nantahala.
